What to see around Mostar: my itinerary

When one thinks of Mostar, the first thought inevitably runs to the Stari Most – the iconic Ottoman bridge crossing the Neretva River – symbol of the destructions caused by the Yugoslav conflict. Mostar needs no introduction: a UNESCO heritage site and the country’s main tourist center, it is very often the primary reason for a trip to Bosnia.

The beauty of the Mostar region (Herzegovina), however, goes well beyond its old town: there is indeed much to discover and explore here, see itinerary below, feasible in a day if you have your own vehicle.
