One of the most beautiful places to admire it in all its splendor is the Peradeniya Botanical Garden in Kandy, the largest of the island with over 4000 species of plants spread over an area of 59 hectares. Among the most spectacular plants there are the giant bamboo of Burma, which can reach 40 meters in height, the double cocunut palms, whose fruit takes five years to mature and the cannonball tree, considered sacred by Hindus and Buddhists. The more than 200 types of palm trees on the park form suggestive tree-lined avenues that are ideal habitat for monkeys and birds. The park also includes sections reserved for spices (Spice Garden), orchids (Orchid House) and cacti (Cactus House). Cut out at least three hours to visit this magnificent park.
